Our editorial take
A sensible option for someone who already likes their dish-soap setup and wants a straightforward brush. It is not a substitute for every cleaning tool.
Based on product research and editorial analysis, not hands-on testing. Our approach
Keep the soap system you already like
If you already use a pump bottle or add detergent to the wash water, a simple dish brush lets that arrangement stay simple. The buying question is whether you need a better way to scrub, rather than a new way to dispense soap.
Similar-looking handles can conceal different products. This guide covers the standard Good Grips Dish Brush with Scraper, SKU 21691, rather than the soap-dispensing brush, its refills or a Softworks substitute.
Two working surfaces on one tool
OXO describes nylon bristles, a flared head and a scraper on the back. The handle is designed to stay grippy when wet. The manufacturer also describes the bristles and scraper as suitable for non-stick cookware. That is OXO's product claim; it is not a comparative scratch test performed by Mav Finds.
The practical attraction is being able to switch from brushing to scraping without setting down the tool. Think about the residue you encounter most often: a film across a plate calls for different contact from a stubborn patch on a pan. Having both shapes available is more relevant than an elaborate feature list.
Where a brush is the wrong shape
A brush should earn a place beside the sink by covering your actual dishes. Very narrow containers, straws and intricate lid parts may need smaller tools. A broad, handled head also will not feel the same as a flexible cloth against every contour. That is a reason to keep a compact cleaning kit, not to expect one purchase to replace everything.
For cookware, check the pan maker's care directions as well as the brush description. A claim about a brush does not override instructions for a particular coating. We would also avoid treating the scraper as permission to force every baked-on patch away immediately; the condition of the cookware still matters.
Care is part of the convenience
The manufacturer marks this model dishwasher safe. Check for that claim on the exact listing and packaging. It does not establish that a particular cycle removes every residue, so examine the head after cleaning.
A simple brush can still become inconvenient if it has no storage spot. Decide whether it will hang, stand in a caddy or occupy an existing holder. Also check whether the retailer is selling one brush or a larger kit; a useful tool does not automatically justify buying extra pieces you will not use.
The fit matters more than the novelty
This is worth considering if you wash dishes frequently and want to keep detergent separate from the tool. It is less compelling if your current brush already does the same job comfortably. We have not tested this model or verified a service life, so the recommendation rests on its straightforward design and the match to a familiar task.
