Our editorial take
A useful candidate for repeated small liquid measurements. Choose it for its scale and viewing angle, not as a replacement for a full set of measuring tools.
Based on product research and editorial analysis, not hands-on testing. Our approach
Small pours deserve a suitably small container
A large measuring jug can feel excessive when the recipe asks for a little lemon juice or a modest amount of oil. A spoon works too, but repeated pours can interrupt a simple dressing or drink. OXO's Mini Angled Measuring Cup is interesting because it treats that small, repeated task as its own use case.
Think about how you cook before adding another measuring tool. If you often make individual drinks or small batches of sauce, a little container may have a regular role. If most of your measuring involves stock, milk or large baking batches, start with the larger measure you actually need.
The quarter-cup model is the one covered here
The manufacturer identifies this Mini as SKU 1102640 with a quarter-cup capacity. Its angled interior markings are designed to be read from above, with cup, ounce and milliliter scales. OXO currently lists Tritan Renew plastic and a non-slip handle. This guide does not cover the one-, two- or four-cup versions.
The design's practical advantage is a different viewing position: you can watch the mark as liquid enters the cup on the counter. That does not turn pouring into an automatic process. You still need to choose the correct unit, notice the level and stop at the intended amount.
Convenience does not mean every ingredient belongs in it
Our take is that this is easiest to justify as a liquid-preparation helper. A small vessel can also keep a measured ingredient ready beside the mixing bowl while you finish another step. That is an organizational benefit, rather than a claim that it makes every recipe more accurate.
Do not make the capacity do the work of a larger jug. Repeatedly filling a tiny cup for a large volume creates more opportunities to lose count. Likewise, if a recipe specifies a kitchen scale or a particular dry measure, choose that tool instead of assuming every volume marking is interchangeable with another method.
Use the care claim that is actually documented
OXO says the Mini is top-rack dishwasher safe. Its current product page does not specify microwave use for this model; confirm the supplied directions before applying heat.
Consider whether the markings suit your kitchen's light, especially if you prefer etched markings or the feel of glass. Readability is a personal fit issue. We have not measured this cup's accuracy, stain resistance or marking durability.
The right reason to make drawer space
Consider the Mini when small liquid quantities occur often enough that a dedicated measure would simplify your routine. Skip it when it would merely duplicate a tool you already enjoy using. The appeal is a focused job and a useful viewing angle; this research does not establish a universal upgrade over measuring spoons or other small cups.
